EASY ANSWERS WITH THE SPEEDSTRAP TIE-DOWN SIZE GUIDE
When it comes to securing your gear, SpeedStrap off-road tie-downs are a great choice. But figuring out the best strap size for your vehicle can be a bit tricky if you’re not familiar with the different sizes and lengths.
That’s why we’ve put together this handy size guide! We’ll talk about the different sizes of straps we have and suggest which size of tie-down works best for each different situation.
UNDERSTANDING TIE-DOWN SIZES
Tie-downs come in a lot different sizes and the two most important measurements that are going to determine which you are going to use are the length and width of the tie-down:
TIE-DOWN LENGTH
The length of a strap is how long it is from the buckle to the end when it’s stretched out.
TIE-DOWN WIDTH
The width of the strap is simply how wide it is. As far as width goes, we have three different sizes: 1 inch, 1.5 inches, and 2 inches wide.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT TIE-DOWN FOR DIFFERENT SITUATIONS
ATV OR MOTORCYCLE TIE-DOWNS
For securing ATVs and motorcycles, we’ve got you covered. Use a pair of 1 to 1.5-inch wide straps that are 6 to 15 feet long. These strong straps can handle different conditions and keep your vehicles in place.
UTV TIE-DOWNS
Moving UTVs requires a special touch. We recommend 1.5-inch wide straps that are up to 10 feet long. These versatile straps supply the strength and security your UTV needs.
JEEP, CAR, AND TRUCK TIE-DOWNS
For bigger vehicles like Jeeps, cars, or trucks, go for 2-inch wide straps that are up to 10 feet long. These heavy duty straps give you the stability and security needed for safe transportation while hauling larger vehicles.
SPARE TIRE TIE-DOWNS
Securing spare tires is important too. Use 1-2 inch wide straps. These straps ensure your spare tire stays put and is ready when needed.
CARGO AND LUGGAGE TIE-DOWNS
For hauling stuff, go for 1-1.5 inch wide straps. These versatile straps can hold furniture, camping gear, and more.
TIE-DOWNS FOR BOATS AND WATERCRAFT
For boats, choose 1.5-inch wide straps that are 10 feet long. Larger boats need 2-inch wide straps to stay secure.
ROOF RACK CARGO
Use 1-inch wide straps that are 8 to 10 feet long to secure cargo on your roof rack. Crisscross them in an “X” pattern to keep things in place.
QUICK TIPS FOR USING SPEEDSTRAP TIE-DOWNS
